Panel 1 - Insights from the Academy: Placing this crisis in the context of history, political theory, and social understanding.
The panel will be comprised of scholars who will focus on educating the attendees on the broader understanding of the context of genocide in Darfur. The history of the region of Darfur is complex, and while the international policy toward Darfur is in flux and many of the actions the Darfur community has called on have not been implemented and/or blocked by the African nations, we would like to have a better understanding about how we can work toward achieving peace and reconciliation for the refugees.

Panel 2 - Reports from the Refugee Experience: From recent visits to the camps and Darfurians here in the United States. This panel will be made up of Darfurian refugees who will engage in a roundtable discussion on effective strategies for peace and reconciliation, and what we can do in New Jersey and in the U.S. to help end the violence in Darfur.
Presentation: Making the case for genocide as a war crime in Darfur

International Criminal Court (ICC) by eleven Darfurian victims.

Panel 3 - International Diplomacy: Strategies for achieving peace in Darfur
This panel’s intent is to hear from those in charge of formulating and implementing policies that have been advocated by the international community over the past six years. The representatives from each of these entities will discuss their achievements, obstacles, and future plan of action.

Panel 4 - National Advocacy: How are we doing? This panel will bring together representatives from advocacy organizations that are leading the national agenda on Darfur. It will provide an opportunity for Darfurian advocates to process what they have heard and to brainstorm next steps for advocacy.
